In this episode Mark and Debbie talk more on the subject of dating, letting someone have veto power in who you date, why pre-marital sex is a problem, and the idea that you should be happy with yourself before getting married, not relying on marriage to make you happy. 5 Minutes Bible Study – Happiness Which Money Can’t Buy

HAPPINESS WHICH MONEY CAN’T BUY Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! Psalm 32:11 In my file on “happiness” is a yellowed piece of paper, the inexpensive kind of paper which little children use in school. It’s been there now for almost a quarter of a century, and the edges are frayed and soiled. On the paper is an essay written in a child’s hand by a nine-year-old girl who happened to be my daughter. It reads, “Money can’t buy happiness. Or love. Sometimes money can’t buy the things that you like best. Money can’t buy the kind of things that mother makes. Money can’t buy good friends. Money can’t buy a baby. Or a pair of pretty eyes. Money can’t buy the moon or the sky. But most of all money can’t buy the love of God for us.” Talk about wisdom coming from the mouth of a child. Scores of the world’s wealthiest people have never learned what Bonnie wrote. Prior to his death, J. Paul Getty, the oil man, was described as one of the world’s richest men. In an interview he told the press that he “finds it hard work being a billionaire.” He said, “I always wish I had a better personality, that I could entertain better, converse more intelligently. I’m always worried of being dull.” There’s a Jewish proverb that says, “When you are rich, you always tell funny jokes and you sing well, too.” But the fact is that money cannot buy happiness. In the event that you have been following this current series, you’ve heard me say that …

Positive Outlook Making a success out of your failures and being happy in life

The secret to being happy. The book: The Hiding Place -reference to the story of two women in a Nazi concentration camp trying to make the most of life, be happy and even grateful for the smallest creature they hate- fleas. Are you content? Thankful for what you have? We’ve talked about thank you notes, but can you be thankful always? Knowing and doing are two separate things. You get out of life what you put into it. Be aggressively thankful for trials and life. People who are only happy when they get things they want are rarely happy. Positive energy will bring you more happiness. There was a Buddhist man who was robbed and when he went to see the doctor- all beat up the doctor asked him why he was happy. The man replied, well he may have stolen my money but what good would it dome to stay upset. Besides something great came out of this. I’ve had neck pain for ears. When this man beat me up it cured it. There is always a silver lining. It may take years but more often then not good will come out of even the worst of situations if you let it and move forward. Allow yourself to go beyond your own limits and be happy above all. Thanks for watching. If you have any questions find me on twitter, facebook, or write in the comments section of this video.
